Eric Fontanel, General Manager
Eric Fontanel has been the General Manager of UNIFE for the past two years. He was born in Cherbourg, France in 1949. He graduated from Ecole Centrale de Paris. Since then he has held various management positions in the railways manufacturing industry for the past 35 years. Among these positions include: project director of the TMST (Eurostar) consortium and director of strategic planning of the locomotives business of ALSTOM Transport. In 2003, he became in charge of the relations of ALSTOM Transport with the European bodies as Director for standards and regulations. In 2007, he was appointed General Manager of the UNIFE, the European association of railways manufacturing industries in Brussels.
