ERWA - Railway Wheels and Wheelsets Committee
ERWA is the UNIFE Railway Wheels and Wheelsets Committee.
The UNIFE Railway Wheels and Wheelsets Committee (ERWA) supports the Railway Industry in the promotion of railway by contributing to improvements in wheels and wheel sets through a focus on safety, reliability and economic efficiency.
The activity of the Committee also includes the definition, adaptation and implementation of advanced technologies.
Composition
The Railway Wheels and Wheelsets Committee (ERWA) is made up of:
- A Steering Committee composed by the CEOs of the ERWA Company Groups
- A Development Committee composed by the Marketing/Commercial Directors of the ERWA Companies, responsible for marketing statistics and studies
- A Technical Committee composed by the Technical Directors of the ERWA Companies, responsible for research, standardization and regulation.
The members of the Railway Wheels and Wheelsets Committee (ERWA) consist of 11 companies from 9 different European countries.
Membership in the Committee is open to European primary manufacturers of wheels and wheel-sets according to the rules of the ERWA Guidelines. Prior, the applicant has to be a full member of UNIFE.
