Sustainable Transport Committee
The UNIFE Sustainable Transport Committee acts as a coordinator for all the environmental matters and provides a platform for consensus-building to formulate common positions.
It assures a coherent and effective common position and effort of the rail industry in the below environmental fields:
- Energy efficiency with reliable standards to measure energy consumption
- Life cycle cost and assessment as a major decision criteria
- Eco-procurement
- Noise and emissions reduction
- Land use

There are 3 technical groups under the leadership of the Sustainable Transport Committee:

- Life Cycle Assessment topical group
- Energy Efficiency topical group
