The Railway Award and Reception 2010
The European Railway Award is a yearly event co-organised by three Brussels-based rail associations UNIFE, CER and EIM. Two trophies are awarded to people who excelled in the political and technical field respectively. The winners of the Railway Award are selected through a Jury consisiting of EU politicians and officials and representatives of the three associations.
The Annual Reception, following the Award Show, is a Networking Dinner which celebrates the achievements over the past year. Four hundred and fifty participants from Brussels political life and the rail sector join together to celebrate this occasion on the eve of 3rd February 2010. The Railway Award Event will be hosted at Musee Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire located inside Parc Cinquantenaire.
The laureate for the political category is Felipe Gonzalez, Spanish Prime Minister from 1982 to 1996.
The laureate for the technical category is Roland Heinisch, Member of the Board of German railways from 1991 to 2007.
