This position paper analyises the achievements and shortcomings found within the European Community's policies in support of innovation. UNIFE's constructive critism aids the Community by prioritising the major social challenges which should be considered when creating innovation policies, outlining the specific policy measures for the rail sector, addressing the relationship between the research policy and innovation policy and by further elaborating on the co-operation which must exist at the regional, national and European level.
In addition, UNIFE helps create a roadmap for future projects to be funded by the European Commission.
