UNIFE Position for authorisation of locomotives fitted with DAC

The paper provides a clear picture of the current situation faced by the sector regarding the authorisation of locomotives fitted with the Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC), both in the short term (i.e. PioDAC) and in the long term, drawing on the industry's experience of past projects. The intention is to raise awareness of the main authorisation challenges in the sector — a necessary step towards finding solutions — and to propose a high-level way forward for these issues.
