The UNISIG Steering Committee (SC)

The UNISIG Steering Committee (SC) is the final decision authority within the UNISIG Consortium, which coordinates the activities of the technical UNISIG subgroups (i.e. Work Packages – WPs).

Today, UNISIG pursues to focus on two primary objectives:

  • Maintenance of the technical ETCS specifications and the change requests in close cooperation with the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), which has become the “system authority” for ERTMS following the adoption of the 4th Railway Package.
  • Further development of the ETCS specifications and introduction of the ERTMS game-changers under the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking (S2R).

UNISIG SC consists of representatives from UNISIG’s 8 Full Members.
