Rail Industry Substance List

The objective of this database is to provide information to suppliers and sub-suppliers on materials and substances prohibited by European and international legislation. The list defines and categorises substances and where restrictions must be considered.

First initiated as a result of the European REACH regulation (EC 1907/2006) that entered into force on 1 June 2007, the list will help users to comply with the regulation’s legal provisions for manufacturers, downstream users, and importers of substances. The UNIFE Chemical Risks Topical Group (CR TG) has extended the legal scope outside Europe to include Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom (UK), the United States of America (USA), and Switzerland.

The Rail Industry Substance List is regularly updated, with reviews occurring once a year. It will also be possible to access the historical version of the database to identify changes and trace any modifications if needed.

The UNIFE CR TG also updates other Product Related Chemicals Regulations.
