Technical and Cultural visits

On Friday, 17 June, two technical visits and one cultural visit will be conducted at the same time.

10:00-12:00 Technical Visits I – SNCF: EOLE project

Dive into the EOLOE project: The extension of the RER to the Ouest consists of redeveloping the existing lines between Mantes-la- Jolie and Nanterre, over a length of 47km, and drilling a new tunnel between Nanterre and Haussmann Saint-Lazare. Eole enables the creation of a new E line generation, with considerable innovations made across the territory. The project is accompanied by the making of 3 brand new stations, of which Porte Maillot, which is set to become the emblem of the underground stations of EOLE, and the focus of this exciting visit.

10:00-12:00 Technical Visit II – RATP

Embark on this tour and discover the Line 14 Railway workshop: the first workshop where the maintenance of new generation eight-cars trains (120m long) takes place. Spread over  20,000m2 this workshop specializes in the cleaning and storage of all trains running on line 14 and, more specifically, the new MP14 train shuttles, which will gradually replace the current trains. The workshop is luminous, spacious and presents five lanes. Three levels of access allow for maintenance services to operate on the roof, door-level and below the trains.

11:30-12:30 Cultural Visit – Atelier des lumières

Via a thematic and intimate itinerary that promotes reflection, discover Cezanne’s inner torment, the power of his compositions, his approach to light and colour, and his link with nature, which was his greatest source of inspiration-his obsession. Dive into nature, under the vast canopy of the trees, forests, parks, and gardens where the bathers can be seen, ending with the Cezannian representation of nature par excellence: Bibémus and l’Estaque, culminating in the Mont Sainte-Victoire.
